What to expect

Your getaway to the island paradise will start as soon as you arrive in the town of Port Antonio. Strolling through the town’s square you’ll see Gregorian-styled buildings, and will be drawn to the colorful flurry of activity at the Port Antonio market. Mix and mingle with the locals, enjoy seasonal fruits, and buy unique souvenirs from the many stalls in the market – a good time and place to practice your bargaining skills. You’ll also make a quick stop at the lavish Trident Castle next, the only castle ever built in the Caribbean, so get your cameras ready for some memorable photos.

After this, you’ll head over to one of the most gorgeous swimming spots in Jamaica, which is also the location of the famous Brooke Shields’ movie of the same name, “The Blue Lagoon”. The water here changes colors with the light to different shades of blue, as does the temperature, varying between cold and warm at places, making it a unique swimming experience. Local guides will tell you about the popular stories of the bottomless lagoon, or the legendary dragon that sleeps in it, but fret not, those are just local myths!

At the lagoon, hop on a boat to see the villas of the rich and famous, and ride to Monkey Island for a dip into the Caribbean waters, and to catch sights of rare birds, plants and wildlife. From here, Frenchman’s Cove will be your next stop. The private beach was a popular holiday destination for celebrity guests like Queen Elizabeth and The Beatles and has featured in several films and documentaries. Frenchman’s Cove is a tropical paradise and one of Jamaica’s most recognized and picturesque beach locations. With its golden sand and swaying palms it is the perfect setting for you to relax and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.

As the day draws to an end, we head down to visit the picturesque Errol Flynn Marina, one of the finest natural harbors in Jamaica, and take a stroll around the restaurants and shopping centers. Round off the trip on a sweet note – a taste of your favorite ice cream at the locally popular Devon House Ice Cream Parlor, before making your way back to your accommodation.
